Racing Athena head gaskets are the product of continuous research and development, designed to meet the ever-increasing demands for higher performance, maximum sealing, and resistance to the extreme thermal and mechanical stresses typical of Motorsports and Drag racing.
The Cut Ring technology combines the benefits of excellent high-pressure sealing found in head gaskets with separate recessed rings, known as Cooper Rings, without requiring the tuner to make irreversible modifications to the engine block for the ring seats.
The gasket body is constructed from Motorgasket, a reinforced material developed by the Athena R&D Department. This material consists of a steel core covered with two layers of asbestos-free aramid fiber, providing excellent thermal and mechanical resistance while maintaining perfect adaptation to cylinder and head support surfaces.
To ensure maximum sealing under all conditions, a silicone bead is applied to critical areas such as oil and coolant passages.
The Cut Ring support rings are made from AISI 304 stainless steel, ensuring maximum sealing capacity around the cylinder bores with no loss of compression, even in extreme applications such as NOS and/or turbo engines where boost exceeds 2 Bar.
